German Markets round up year
November 24, 2008
Members of the development society GFI German Wholesale Markets met in Stuttgart on 11 and 12 November 2008 for their 14th General Meeting. They discussed marketing measures for 2009 which aim to continue the successful PR and media work of past years, primarily promoting the country’s wholesale markets to German consumers and business/political communities. During 2008, GFI established good marketing partnerships and close cooperation with Zespri, Sopexa and EOS (Bolzano Chamber of Commerce’s Export Organization for South Tyrol) which resulted in promotional activities with independent retailers. Plans for 2009 include further promotional activities with all three partners and talks will also be held with other major international growers and marketing organization. GFI will once again exhibit at Fruit Logistica (FL), and a complementary panel discussion event is scheduled during FL for the evening of 5 February, 2009. During the Stuttgart event, Uwe Kluge, Managing Director of Bremen Wholesale Market, stood for re-election to the GFI Board and was unanimously voted into another term of office.
