An employment position is open to a market professional interested in designing and implementing a market development programme within the wholesale and retail sector in Nigeria. The DFID Nigeria programme is one of DFID’s largest, and in the area of economic growth it aims to help 600,000 people to work their own way out of poverty. The goal of the Growth and Employment in States (GEMS) programme, a joint initiative of DFID, the World Bank and the Federal Government of Nigeria, is to increase growth, incomes and jobs in selected states and nationally. GEMS 4 aims to support the Nigeria Wholesale and Retail sector, which is one of six sectors covered by GEMS. The overall objective of this assignment is to design and implement a market development programme within the wholesale and retail sector in Nigeria that will create jobs and raise incomes, especially for the poor.
