Our vision

Joining forces to feed the world with healthy, quality fresh products.
We envision a world where affordable and nutritious food is available to all. A world where the food supply chain is efficient, sustainable, and provides high-quality products.
WUWM is empowering wholesale and retail markets, and other fresh food actors with the necessary skills, knowledge, and networks to improve their capabilities. Together we can ensure food security and provide healthy diets in a sustainable, inclusive, and consistent way.
Our organization is continuously examining ways to upgrade the industry so that we can meet the challenges of the 21st century, including a more green agricultural sector and the pursuit to a climate-neutral food supply chain.
Modern wholesale markets benefit all food system actors. Today, modern wholesale markets are the most efficient with inclusive logistical platforms ensuring food security at both the local and global levels. These “fresh food hubs” allow for the development of sustainable and resilient food systems.
Modern wholesale markets are an efficient and robust model enabling daily delivery of fresh food to millions while respecting the environment.
By allowing small and medium size farmers to access the market and encouraging them to distribute their goods, wholesale markets maximize their opportunities, and ensure attractive prices to consumers.

Wholesale markets aim to improve food processes and practices while contributing to reducing food waste, green gas emissions, and protecting biodiversity. Simply put, we believe wholesale and retail markets are key partners to meet the challenge of feeding the world in a sustainable way. Fewer intermediaries, increased security and enhanced accessibility with better pricing for all!
