World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) Bangkok Conference Concludes with Success

 

Bangkok, Thailand – [29th May 2024] – The World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) concluded its highly successful conference in Bangkok, Thailand, held from May 15th to 17th, 2024. The event, hosted by Talaadthai, brought together nearly 300 attendees from over 25 countries across five continents for meaningful discussions on the theme of Wholesale markets at the forefront of technological innovation.

The WUWM extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Pradit Phataraprasit, President of the Thai Agricultural Wholesale Market Association (TAWMA) and owner of Talaadthai, and the Thai authorities for their full support in making the conference a success.

The conference witnessed high-level participation, including addresses by Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Thailand, QU Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Paopoom Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance of Thailand, and Pradit Phataraprasit himself.

Regional Focus and Working Group ULDE Launch

The WUWM Bangkok Conference also facilitated meetings among its four regional groups, fostering collaboration and discussions on regional goals. Additionally, the WUWM Chairman unveiled the launch of the first working group dedicated to “Urban Logistics & Digital Economy,” open to all WUWM members for participation.

Looking Ahead: Next WUWM Conference

The momentum continues as the WUWM gears up for its next conference scheduled in Rimini, Italy, from October 30th to November 1st, 2024. This event will explore the theme: Wholesale Markets and the Food of the Future: Insights and Opportunities for the Agri-Food Sector. The WUWM General Assembly will be held on November 1st.
