WUWM supports the future UN International Day of Fruits and Vegetables

The World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) welcomes the approval by the FAO Conference of the proposal to create an International Day of Fruits and Vegetables (IDFV), following a resolution led by the Government of Chile. The initiative, supported by WUWM and AIAM5 from the outset, will be presented for formal adoption by the UN General Assembly in September 2025.

The first IDFV is expected to take place on March 4, 2026, promoting the essential role of fruits and vegetables in nutrition, health, and sustainable food systems.

WUWM is committed to mobilizing its global network of markets to celebrate this day through awareness and education campaigns.
