2024 WUWM Rimini conference report
The World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) is pleased to announce the publication of the 2024 Rimini Conference Report, an overview of the conference held from 30 October to 1 November 2024 in Rimini, Italy.
The event marked the first WUWM conference in Europe in over three years and brought together more than 200 delegates from five continents to explore the theme “Wholesale Markets and the Food of the Future: Insights and Opportunities for the Agri-Food Sector.”
The report highlights the role of wholesale markets in shaping the future of food systems worldwide. From innovative logistics and digital transformation to circular economy models, public health, and food waste reduction, the discussions showcased how markets are driving meaningful change at local and global levels. Case studies from Italy, Mexico, Ukraine, China, France, Spain, and the USA illustrate the sector’s resilience and capacity for innovation amid climate, nutrition, and urbanisation challenges.
The publication also reflects WUWM’s continued collaboration with key institutional partners, including FAO and MIT, particularly in advancing joint efforts to reduce food loss and waste and improve food system efficiency. It further celebrates the engagement of participants and the strong leadership displayed by host partners Italmercati and CAAR Rimini.
The report is now available for download on the WUWM website and here : Report Rimini 2024
We invite all members, partners, and stakeholders to explore its insights and join us in continuing the work toward more sustainable, resilient, and equitable food systems worldwide.
